POST DAY: Sunday, November 13th, 2022 4:30 am
Today was one of the best days of my life. From beautiful beaches to beautiful scenery everything looked and felt like a dream. I simply have nothing today say about today. The entire day was spent on a boat. We were on the boat excursion from 11:00 am this morning to 8:00 pm. The excursion included 3 rounds of kayaking around islands and into caves, lunch, dinner, and we were able to build floating lanterns called Krathong. The Krathong is used during Thailand’s Yi Peng festival, which is a light festival that happens here during the month of November. Throughout our week here in Thailand, I have been able to see multiple versions of the Krathong and light lantern. It was nice to be apart of making one. We then participated in releasing the lanterns into the water. The tour guide I had, his name was Tee and he made the trip extra special. He was engaging with me and talking with me. He told me about his hometown and where he his from. He shared his store on how he missed visiting the islands and glad to be back to work after the pandemic. Tee explained that the pandemic cause for 2 things to happen in Thailand, 1 lots of people were out of jobs as several jobs were ran off of tourism, 2 most people went back home to their village/town during the pandemic because all the resources needed for food and other things were/can be produced on their homeland. This meant that local people did not have to worry about certain food shortages. Last but not least, we were able to see plankton, the bio luminous water insect. It was very cool to see these creatures light up after absorbing the sun all day. So here are lots of photos to showcase all the beauty I saw.
The boat day trip was amazing. I have nothing more to say but I want you to look at the pictures and experience it yourself.
