Well, another day of just laying around by the pool and drinking, what is life man! Ok, no I did not do this all day again, but I did drink and sleep by the pool for a great deal of the morning. What I focused on today was the morning and afternoon activities that the resort held every hour. I began by doing morning stretches at 10:30 am. The stretches that the instructor had us do were well needed for my body after everything I put her through these last couple of days. The stretching session took place outside and there was a nice cool breeze happening as we were stretching. Breathing in fresh air and stretching first thing in the morning is a powerful combination. The session only took about 30 minutes. From there, I laid back by the pool until water aerobics began at noon. A small group of travel group members and myself stayed in a group around the pool to be able participate in the activities as they were happening. Like I mentioned, water aerobics began at noon and man was that fun. I had never done water aerobics before this, and I was excited for this experience. The water aerobics instructor was a good-looking man, which made the session better. We were moving and grooving in the water, floating all around using pool noodles along the way. And if you are wondering able my foot at this point, I removed my cast to get int the water. The water helped stretch the area out with some resistance from the water. I bought an ankle support sock and a wrap to wrap my foot back up and place it into the boot that the doctor provided me with if I so chose to remove the cast at any time. After water aerobics, they played good music for a midday dance party right before lunch.
After lunch, I resumed my position by the pool as I watched other resort goers participate in water polo, Zumba, and a dance lesson. The dance that the instructor was teaching was Bachata. It was funny and refreshing to see the older white woman out on the dance floor learning to dance knowing they do not have much rhythm, but they were having lots of fun it seems. The Zumba class was an afro beat inspired class and again you had the same old white ladies that were there to have fun. I will say they did keep up and on the beat with the Zumba class and I was thoroughly happy for them. Waterpolo consist of only old white men, and they were playing with some speed and strength behind them. It almost gave the feeling that some of them played in high school or college. The recreation team ended the afternoon activities with a sendoff dance routine like their morning welcome routine.
After dinner, the recreation team had night activities such as an oriental show, kids’ corner, and other night disco. Like the day before, I tapped out early for the night. I watched some of the oriental shows from my balcony (also the name of the show is problematic but hey, it’s how they refer to it in their culture). The show consists of different dances including belly dance and a guy twirling in circles while making shapes with the circles and scarf he had in his hand. I didn’t watch the rest of the show as we have an early start tomorrow as it is our last day in Egypt, and we must drive back to Cairo to depart. 7 hours back to Cairo from Hurghada; this shall be an interesting and long drive back. Well, I can’t believe I only have one more day here in Egypt. Time really does fly when you are having fun. Talk to you tomorrow… Laters, Gators
